I am about ready to finish a Centurion with an airbrushed flat coat. Except, I cannot use enamel or lacquer based products due to the smell and VOC's. I've read on other forums that one part Tamiya flat base can be mixed with 3 parts future to achieve a flat finish. Otherwise, the Tamiya FB goes chalky on its own. Can anyone verify this and are their other products out there that can be used as non-volatile flat coats.
I have used Tamiya's flat base with Future with some success, but you'll want to experiment with the ratios on a a scrap piece of plastic in order to get it the way you'll like.

Sorry I forgot this, but Testor's acryl line has a flat acrylic clearcoat that you won't have to mix.
Polyscale Flat, Gunze flat, Vallejo, Lifecolor, Italeri- all these are acrylic flat coats.(As well as MM acrylic mentioned above)
The Pollyscale line is discontinued. Once they are all sold out, no more is coming.

If it is the x21 flat base you mean then it it not a flat coat at all but is designed to be mixed with gloss the give a flat/ semi flat finish.
