I've never dealt with Trumpter, but yes it does sound familiar.

Don't bother with Trumpeter either. I have called them twice and their answer is "it's been ordered". :***:

Sounds like any Trumpeter kit purchased should be carefully checked for parts count / damage immediately or the owner is outa luck.Hmm

I had a similar experience getting a replacement canopy for a 1/48 F-15E and some replacement wings for a 1/144 C-17.  I was very impressed.

Great experience here too with Revell. The canopy on my F-14 somehow was busted almost in half. I used the link and requested the replacement. Got it in about 3 weeks. On the other hand, it's been almost a year that I requested a couple of parts from Academy and Trumpeter, and still waiting, and waiting. Sound familiar Stik?

I agree with ya, stikpusher.

Revell has great customer service!

I have been able to obtain a sheet  of replacement decals for a set I damaged  as well as two new 1/72 shuttle main fuel tank halves to replace warped parts in the kit ; no charge.Toast

I've posted a thread in FSM forums expressing my satisfaction about their service

http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/general_discussion/f/9/t/155589.aspx

AIRFIX also helped me by replacing a damaged 1/24 kit fuselage half;  a new part was mailed to me from the UK and I received it within two weeks after sending my e-mail request.

I did voluntarily repay them six pounds for international shipping Presumably Hornby did not expect payment as the the part arrived without any prior request for payment.

Kudos to AIRFIX as I could not complete the kit without the part and a replacement 1/24 scale kit would have cost me a lot more than six poundsBig Smile

I think so, aside from Tamiya, none of the other Asian model companies that had to deal with have had a similar quality of service. Hasegawa took many many months to replace a part, Academy wanted to charge a fee that was enough to pay for a whole kit to replace a single part, and the others that I listed... Might as well talk to a mirror...

It's refreshing to read some good news on the forums. Glad you had a great experience with them, Stik. Wonder if it has anything do with them being an American-based company?

Yes it is good to know. It's just all by phone or email now. Companies that have dealt with that have superb service: Revell, Testors, and Tamiya. Good service but glacially slow:Hasegawa; mediocre service: Academy... Don't even bother you'll never hear back: Dragon & Bronco.

I always enjoy reading about good customer service experiences. I remember from back as a kid, I US Mailed a request for replacement parts a couple times. Assumed those days were long gone, really neat to hear, Stik!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that their site says to wait 6 to 8 weeks. And they did it in two!

Well, I also had a great experience with the parts service of Revell Europe. Sure is a big plus for Revell.

Have a nice day

Kudos for Revell Customer Service

I just wanted to give a shout out regarding Revell's excellent customer service (again). About 2 weeks ago I had a misfortune to break off and lose a part of one of their kits (the pitot tube on a F-104). In spite of my search efforts, I had no luck finding the lost part. Two options: try scratchbuild a replacement on my own or see if Revell will replace a part that was lost thru no fault of theirs. I used the customer service link on their website and explained that I lost the part on my own. Today I find the requested part in my mailbox, free of charge. Now THAT is customer service! Many Thanks Revell! You have a customer for life!
