What did everyone get for Christmas?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, December 26, 2002 1:45 PM
I didn't make it on the past couple of days to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, but better late than never - Merry Christmas everyone!! Hopefully everyone was able to spend time with friends and family and had a wonderful Christmas. Smile [:)]

Now, on to the question...

Did anyone find any plastic sealed boxes of plastic goodness under the tree this year? Wink [;)]

No models under the tree this year for me - however, I did get a bunch of Tamiya paints and brushes. That's good for me. Cool [8D]

No kits under the tree (don't usually get a tree anyway...), but I used some of my holiday $$ to get a Minicraft Eastern Airlines Lockheed Electra. However, one of Old Christmas Guy's elves forgot to pack the windscreen in the box. I placed a brief call to Minicraft customer service, so hopefully the missing piece will arrive before next Christmas!

Since my loved ones would have no clue what kind of modeling stuff to get me, I shopped for myself and got an Mi-24 Hind helicopter gunship, a U-Boat with interior, and an SR-71. All three are by Revell. These will keep me occupied for a little while! Big Smile [:D]

I got a new Aztec deluxe air brush and some other tools, the new M-3 Honey kit, the Verlinden Water Front and Sniper Alley diorama's with the guys and stuff to go with them, the Verlinden Panzer IV detail set with the old road wheel set by Warriors. Plus some other figures by VP and other model stuff. My wife and son did a great job this year!
Happy Holidays,
Pat

For modeling I asked for and received gift certificates for book stores and local hobby shops. So far that has gone toward these, either have or on order:

Squadron/Signal books: M1 Walker Bulldog in Action, M3 Half-Track in a Action

Other Books: How to build Dioramas, The Gatefold Book of Tanks, Uniforms of World War II

A dorama accessroy, some brick wall; have a rough idea in mind and hope to learn modeling armor and do a diorama. Want to do a half-track for a WWII friend/vet.

Merry Christmas!

No kits under the tree for me, but that's normal. I did get a subscription to Tamiya Model Magazine International.
Happy New Year everyone.

My wife refuses to buy me any more until the next 50 in my "to do" are completed !
Hope you all had a good holiday.

I was very lucky. My wife and daughter were paying attention. My model related items were:

A renewed subscription to Fine Scale Modeler;
Salamander Books Limited Illustrated Directory of Fighting Aircraft of World War II;
Flex-I-File refills;
German Asbach Uralt Cognac;
1 lb box of Smoked King Salmon from Alaska;
A box of Cohiba Habanas.

No plastic, but my storage shelves runneth over with unbuilt kits. And I have everything I need to hunker down and enjoy some quality building time now. I am ready to finish more projects now!

No Edgar, don't do it!

Drink the cognac, eat the salmon, and smoke the cigars! Don't use them for hobby supplies!
