just opened the box of Christine and i have to say very very disappointed, firstly we all know that the plymouth fury in Christine was actually a Belvedere but Since this is supposed to be the Plymouth Fury from the film I didn't expect to find the Belvedere name embossed on the side, and the flash in the kit is terrible i have bought airfix kits of a quarter the price and better quality. there iv'e had my moan i will just have to hope the others are not as bad, this kit is just a reboxing of a Belvedere kit and i bet if i were to check the Belvedere kit would be cheaper tut, tut, tut, AMT lots of work to do on this kit.

Know whatcha mean about AMT. I'm building an AMT 1965 Mustang for my wife (her first car was a 1965 Mustang), and I'm not impressed with the kit's quality. The body shell is very accurate, but under the hood was a HUGE brace molded in to the area just under the cut-out for the hood (not sure why it was there, but it was HUGE in diameter), and, once removed, it left some unsightly depressions on the tops of both fenders. Same for the truck lid - depressions where the tabs for the windshield/rear window glass are to sit. Also, the underbody looks pretty darned good, until you realize that it's all one piece - exhaust, mufflers, differential housing, leaf springs, fuel tank - all of it. Two metal shafts are supplied for the axles, one of which goes through the oil pan on the engine. Don't think I'll build another AMT automotive kit. My wife doesn't mind all this - it's just gonna sit on her desk as a display piece, but it has definitely turned me off to AMT auto kits.

I wouldn't let it put you off I have (I must admit a long time in the past) bought AMT car kits and they have been fine. My issue is with that particular kit (I must say though I've never had one where the axle is steel and goes through the sump) that does sound like cheap cost cutting maybe they are not what they used to be.
