Ambroid Pro-Weld question....
Posted by kingbobyjr on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 7:42 AM
Hello all... I just started assembling a Tamiya 1/35 M4 Sherman kit. I am using Ambroid Pro-Weld, applying it with a #3/0 brush that I had lying around. On some of the joints and around the joints the Pro-Weld left a shiny appearance. I think I may be using a tad to much. Will that shininess by covered up when I prime and paint? Just curious. Thanks!!!

Very cool...that's what I thought but the perfectionist in me (and that's a bad thing) wanted to be sure before I continued with the  build.

Thanks!!!

Just in addition to what TD4438 said above, most glues leave that shiny appearance when dry. The thin glues will cover easily with primer but the thicker glues might need a little sanding before using the primer as they usually leave a raised area. That's when the fun comes in trying to sand down the glue residue without removing any detail such as panel lines or rivets.
