Vacuform clear parts help

Hello!

You basically have two options more than having someone do them for you - buy a replacement (there's a company called Falcon that could have something like that for you) or you do it yourself. The IPMS Stockholm website has an article that would show you how. If Falcon doesn't have the thing you need (worth checking) you need models of the parts you want made. You need to duplicate the parts as solid blocks of resin or plaster of paris or something like that and then the parts could be vacuformed. If the form is not to difficult you can use the "heat-smash" methode.

First, make a master out of a suitable material.

Then heat some clear plastic and pull it over the master.

Thanks guys for the advice.  The heat smash method seems the way to go because I just can't see paying $25.00 for  a replacement canopy on an $ 8.50 model, but I DO appreciate your input.

I remember watching a video where a shop vac is used along with pegboard. I have to look for it as I may very well need to vac form the long greenhouse canopy for a 1/72 scale Jake. I can't find any vac formed canopies for it.

Squadron may have a canopy available? They usually only cost 5 to 8 bucks.

That's the first place I looked in and nothing for the Jake. Falcon Canopies makes a set but it's $26!
