Cursed???
Posted by mitsdude on Sunday, May 4, 2014 11:03 PM

Anyone else out there find themselves cursed with the desire to light, weather, photoetch, diorama, or a combination of these to almost every model they build? Tongue Tied

I'm even finding myself planning to refurbish models in this way to kits I built long ago!!!

So many ideas, so little time (and money). Propeller

Yup... Nowadays, nearly every project that I start tends to get more involved than I originally intended. I'm gonna add this or change that to make it more accurate, etc... It snowballs.

Yep. Every 35th armour and 72nd aircraft I do are built into a Dio, I have been doing that for years. And partly because of that I want them to fit into the scene as much as possible.

Though these days I am being more selective in regards to PE and other AM parts. There was a time I would get anything on the market for said kits, but sometimes you really don't need it so I am only getting it when I feel I need it. I have bought a few kits recently where I have decided to get nothing at all.

But I am not going to go back and re do my old kits,i am not going that far.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I'll always chose to build at least one kit straight OOB, knock it out quickly and then have it sit in my "to be painted" pile until I drag out the airbrush.

Ive done my best to avoid the temptation, but recently I've given in to it slightly, resin exhausts and photo etched cockpit details for my Hasegawa F-4B

Fortunately (from a price point of view) there aren't a ton of PE parts for the subjects I build (Scifi, Real Space, Figures). I feel for you armor, plane, car guys.

I find that I need to weather my subject os else I feel like it is incomplete.  I don't really do any diorama stuff so I'm not cursed with that.
