Howdy NamVet. Welcome to the forum. And many thanks for your service and sacrifices. I used to build when I was younger but gave it up for about 30 years. When I got back into it a few years ago it was due to my interest in WWII history. When I got my first kit, Academy Tiger I with full interior, I was blown away with all the detail and the number of pieces in the kit. I was so blown away that I  put it away and opted for Italeri's DUKW instead.

Build what ever inspires you.  Since you were there (Vietnam) and actually saw the equipment I imagine you could come up with some pretty interesting stuff.
