Duke, I would change two small things about all the excellent advice given to you in the previous posts.
One, don't worry about dust,,,,,,you should be wet-sanding anyway, but do wear a particle mask in case you "just hit that part with sandpaper" now and then. (I accidentally dry-sand every once in a while)
Second, you should consider using both CA glue and an Epoxy in different places on your model. I build resin aircraft models, and I use Epoxy for the fuselage joint and the attaching of wings and tail surfaces. You can use CA for all the rest of a model, but, if you have any leverage at work, the joint can "pop" because of the way CA bonds pieces together.
For an example, there is the famous commercial of a guy hanging from his helmet CA'd to the crossbar on a goalpost,,,,,,that worked because he was hanging straight down,,,,,then, to remove the helmet, you just hit it from the side, and it pops right off the bar.
So, anyplace there is some leverage, as in a wing joining an aircraft fuselage, use Epoxy instead. And don't worry about the heat, if you mix it up in the right proportion and use a very fine application, the heat won't build up enough to hurt the resin,,,,,,,if can even be used on injected plastic, as long as you avoid mixing any "hot cups"
