Being European sans creditcard going through the whole rigmarola of money orders and international transfers just seems like too big a hassle. So I just go and get the odd copy from a newsagent. (Unfortunatly, the one where I used to get it locally stopped supplying, so now I really only am able to get it when I head into town once in a blue moon).

I have been a egular subscriber since 1996. I do get frustrated tho when hobby shops and newstands get theres 2-3 weeks before I do. Oh--well, I'm saving some cash doing so.

Very few news stands carry FSM regularly around here, but they seem to go pretty quick when ever i get to one that does carry it. i haven't picked up an issue since last year )monetary restrictions... i.e. models and supplies) Smile [:)]

Been a subscriber for at least 12 years. And agree with the others, seems for the past 6 months or so, its getting here as much as a week after its in the LHS and newstands.

I just signed up late last year & I already have the April issue but didn't get the March. I posted it in the Suggestion forum & someone said that it could have been lost in the mail. How do I get a replacement?Disapprove [V]

I have been subscribing for a couple of years now and it is frustrating to see it on the news stand before I get it, but I'm to lazy to go looking for it every month.

Have subscribed two times, but got sick, on both occasions, of getting beat up rags in the mail. (Apes at the PO! Wink [;)] )

With around a dozen local sources, it's hard to miss an ish of FSM. Matter of fact, I've got every one of them up 'til late last year. (Including the pilot)

I did subscribe, but cancelled because the newsstand price in $C was cheaper than the subscription cost in $US.

when I first discovered fsm, it was cheaper for me to buy it at the lhs than to subscribe, and I now find its a very good way to support the lhs (and an excuse to go to the LHS Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D])

I like checking out mags at the newsagent before I buy them. Having said that, I always buy FSM, but it's still thrilling to discover the latest issue amongst the other modelling mags. The only other mags I buy every issue of are SteelMasters and Minitracks.

Recently renewed to FSM after several years of not. Model railroad dominated my interest (although money was still going into Kalmbach coffers with MR, Classic Trains and Trains). Leafing through earlier issues (mid-90s) I see a definite improvemnet in editorial content. Much more "how to" and less "look what the other guy did". Way to go guys. Keep it up.

It's one subscription I have no intention of cancelling. I will probably eliminate my Toy cars and Models subsription, just not interested in it anymore.

I had a subscription for about 10 yrs (1981-1991), then finances in college made me quit it. I was going to sign back up but had a limited magazine budget. About 2 years ago, I signed up to buy some mags to help a local kid for his school, boy was that a scam. I got three to six mags an month I never wanted (Rosie? Ladies Home Journal? YM?) and was set into a two year contract where they nailed my credit card $30 a month. It has taken me and a lawyer 14 months to get this crap settled. Now that it is behind me, I will renew my subscription with a mag I love and can use.

Beware of those mag companies that claim they are helping your local schools. Read the fine print and personally call the company to get their requirements, the school was not aware what was happening. We got scammed big time.
Whenever a cute kid comes to my door, I just ask them for the time of the next PTA meeting and send the PTA a check. I'm tired of frozen pizza an having to deal with these mag companies. The best mags are the ones like FSM, and even ifthey were on the list of these marketers, I would probably buy direct. I liked dealing with FSM on a personal level.

Been a subscriber since around 89 (was purchasing locally prior). I get mine a little late, but usually in the first week of the month of the issue. I figure that the boys at the PO read it before they decide it's time to deliver.

And Yes, The local Barnes and Noble gets it at least 2 weeks before I do.

Recently renewed and will continue to do so. Local stores don't carry it. Once in a great while I'll see it at the local book store. Anything to do with RC you can find it. The RCer population up here is few and far between, so this just amazes me. The mags just sit on the shelves some times there will be three issues setting there. Go figure!

I've been a subscriber since the spring issue of 1982(the pilot issue). I still have all the issues in binders. I find that they are usefule reference sources for lots of projects.

I subscribed not too long ago because I no longer have the ability to go to a LHS as often as I want, so the convenience factor was there for me. However, I very much doubt I'll renew. The fact is that with the US to Canada exchange rates plus the premium FSM charges to outside of US subscribers is not worth it for 10 usses. If the price stayed where it was for 2 extra issues (thus 12) maybe I'd stay, but as it is now, I've only gotten two, and I'm allready wishing I hadn't subscribed. It's cheaper for me if I'd continued to just buy from my LHS.

Been a subscriber for years and will continue to do so. The LHS and a couple of bookstores carry it, but it's worth the decreased hassle for me.

Took out my first subsciption two weeks ago as it's very difficult to find FSM in the UK, and to my delight, seven days later the April issue landed on my doorstep! If delivery is always this promt I'll continue my subsciption for years!

I used to subscribe till a couple of years ago. I could not afford it anymore. I hope that I can get all my backissues. I miss FSM very much. The only gripe I ever had is that they used to do lots of articles on discontinued kits. I do not know if that was just what people were working on or if that was an effort to get discountinued kits back to the market.

Two projects that come to mind were the German Ambulance that was based on the Opel Blitz. I have always wanted to build one of those. I have no scratch building experience and I figured that wasn't too hard a build. But at the time of that articlet that kit was OOP.

The second was an artilce on an MPC or Eartl FIrebird I think it was a larger scale. I remember it was red. I think it might have been 1/12 or 1/16. Something like that.

I did find all of the airbrushing stuff very helpful. I am twenty seven and now live on my own. For the last two years or so I have been restarting my hobby career. Although I have noting finihsed due to lack of money so I can buy paint and glue I am working on small what I call "Baby Steps" of getting things done. So that when I can afford to do things I can really get things underway. i enjoyed reading FSM even though I wasn't building at the time the reading of FSM kept me up to date on what was going on in the world of FSM. I enjoyed all of the issues that I subscribed too and bought at my local newstand. I enjoyed all of them and miss them very much. I am getting my DL this Thursay God willing so a job will not be to far behind and then I can start building my own life instead of my parents. it is tough not having a DL at my age especially in a town without jobs.

No i dont subsribe because its easier to go to the local newsagent and pick up each issue the lady there puts my name on it a sticks it under the counter until i pick it up. but i would subsribe if i couldnt find it here in Aussie land, afterall its one of my best modeling tools.
