Spitfire

I had to recently order a replacement part (tail stabilizer) and was just curious how they handle these requests.  Do they just send that one part, or do they send the whole sprue that the part is on?

You do realize they are pretty much gone?  Revell Germany is still going but in the US you have to ask around till you find someone that has the canopy in the spares box.

Yup, Revell Germany has a completely different customer service program compared to the former Revell USA. And not for the better.

Hello!

I'd say Revell Germany has a great customer service, especially when it comes to parts - because they send you parts for free, they don't even charge any shipping, and they actually need only a polite request - no need to prove you're a legitimate buyer or any stuff like that.

One problem though - as one nice lady from Revell once told me - they get swamped with parts requests after Christmas and it takes them usually until April to process all of those. From April on it only takes about two or three weeks to get the requested parts.

Hope it helps, have a nice day

Which kit, 1/32 or 1/48?  The 1/32 kit is from 1969 and last repopped in 2015.  The 1/48 kit is from 1967 and last repopped in 2012.  No parts would be available for both from Revell now, especially.  Since the bankruptcy/reorganization, Revell USA is no more, and Revell of Germany is now Revell.  Best would be two options, look aftermarket, or buy a new kit from Ebay, Amazon, or other online sellers.

WIP:  Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 73rd BS B-26, 40-1408, torpedo bomber attempt on Ryujo

Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 22nd BG B-26, 7-Mile Drome, New Guinea

Minicraft 1/72 B-24D as LB-30, AL-613, "Tough Boy", 28th Composite Group

A general rule is that no company will send you replacement parts unless the kit is currently in production, and then the question becomes, why not just buy another kit?

(oh, and they are still in business).

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Maybe in Europe they do that, but not in the USA. My sole personal experience with their customer service was no response was ever received from them for a replacement request. I have read of other stateside folks on here having less than stellar experiences as well.

Im not knocking their models at all. But their customer service to North America bites rocks.

I have gotten replacement parts from Revell Germany in the past but it took up 4 months to receive. Huh?

I just ordered a couple of replacement sprues for the Snowberry kit. They were the two smallest ones so I hope they don't want more than the price of a new kit. I'm not expecting free since I'm looking for the entire sprue. And I'm not in a rush. But a response would be nice. We'll see.

Edited to say that they responded almost immediately, so that's promising.

i contacted Revell first via an email addy from their kit instructions. I got a response immediately saying that they were forwarding my request to the appropriate department. Then I found their website parts form, which I also filled out. A day later I received an email acknowledging receipt. Then a couple of confusing emails about my request, undoubtedly caused by my dual requests. Finally, yesterday I received an email from Revell Germany saying that they were sending the parts, free of charge. Great I thought. And to top it off, there was a box from Revell waiting at the post office for me today, with both of the sprues I had requested.

Now that is excellent customer service!
