1/24 scale fleet

I'm surprised.

I would have thought the Dornier 17 would need some jigs.

I have used some foam jigs, but most time just hold the part till glue sets enough to stay put. Once a part will stay in place I have a heat lamp that I place the part under and it will harden glue very fast....Rich

When I built balsa and tissue paper airplanes, I used simple jigs to position wings or other parts while glue dried.

Do you do something similar for the paper builds? 

I use a 3/8" metal rod to curl the paper, a scoring tool made from a pin file handle and a 1/16 brass rod. And the ever useful Exacto knife. The glue I use is Aleene's tacky glue, it's a white glue that used is thin layers dries very fast. I'm starting a simple Stearman model that I'm planing to show some of the tricks and tools I use..........Rich

What tools or jigs did you need to hold assemblies in place while glue was drying or to curl or roll parts and sub-assemblies? 

Great models Rich. The 335 looks larger now when compared to the car. I hope you have enough display space. LOL

I have a Bandai 1/24 George that I want to eventually build and the beast is HUGE.

That  X-15 A2  did indeed turn out beautiful as did all the rest.

A bit hard to tell on color accuracy since I do not expect them to look the same in a photo as in real life.

I see that inkproducts does have kits for that Epson Workforce printer so I will order from them. 

Yes they are printed in color, most come out with good color but I don't try to match any color. I use  colored felt pens for touch up. A few have given me trouble, my 335 came out dark I think for sure darker than the real plane in the Smithsonian. Right now I starting a 1/32 SR-71 and it's killing me, keeps coming out black-brown? and the grey look purple-ish ? Going to get a friend to try a laser printer and see how it comes out. My X-15 A2 came out with fantastic color and it's the same printer and from the same designer.....so? You do a really nice job on those builds.

I presume that you print those kits in color rather than paint them.

Do you have any problem printing colors that look like an exact match for the model paints?  

After checking the local ink cartridge re-fill availability in the Chicago area,  I have been told that the capability to re-program or re-set the Epson WF67610  #252 cartridge chip is not yet available.

Unless I can re-fill  and re-set the cartridges I will most likely experiment with sealers and painting any kits I build.

    I had a friend peep in on what you had in your fleet  .He was totally dumbfounded by the gorgeous " Paper " airplanes , You've built . Keep them coming Please ? They are a treat for these old eyes .I love the level of your craftsmanship .Good On You !    T.B.          P.S. What is the lighter green, twin engined plane to the far right in the picture as we see it ?

By the way the 335 (full scale) had a 45 foot wingspan and length, my 335 is 22 3/4" so just a tick over 1/24........Rich

Great work. What are the canopies made from? are they scratched out? Judging from the Coke can size as a reference, I imagined the Pfeil being a bit larger at 1/24 since it was a HUGE bird.

They look good,also very diverse

I think it's a very impressive collection; outstanding construction and finish.

But the dog seems less than interested.  I guess not everyone is smitten with modeling.

Seriously, though--a great collection!
