While at a donation center I frequent more or less now on regular basis, I stumbled upon an appliance that caught my eye , instant epiphany. I initially wanted a spray booth that was compact enough so as not to take up too much counter space in the shop. But what I came across sent me on a different tangent , one of enlightenment and possibility. It's now close to being finished. I just need to decide what duct to go with, solid , semi rigid or flex. So here's my take on a spray booth. Feel free to comment / ask questions.
The heart of the booth, a downdraft cook top vent rated at 650cfm. Did a test using a candle. The candles flame remained at a constant 90 deg. bend toward the vent and when blown out the fumes were evacuated instantly. Distance to the vent was 21 inches. So I think she will do the job quite nicely. The brown brackets are for mounting a hood that I am in the process of making and should help with efficiency.
