Vance's 2014 wrapup
Posted by VanceCrozier on Monday, January 5, 2015 6:50 AM

Well gents, I gave myself til the end of this weekend to put the wraps on this year's builds and got thwarted all around. Whaddya do?  Fully complete in 2014:

Fiat CR42

Saab Draken RCAF - certainly a what-if machine! 1/72 Aeroplast kit with decals from the spares.

Polikarpov I.153, 1/72 Heller kit, attempted some rigging with stretched sprue, decals from the spares.

FW 190 D9, 1/72 Academy kit oob except for a masking tape harness.

FW 190 D9, 1/72 Hasegawa kit oob except for a masking tape harness.

Mk 1 tank - 1/76 Airfix, the tank itself is done, that steering cart still needs to be finished though, I plan on building up a little diorama base of some sort for that this year.

Gundam, 1/144 scle from Bandai. Didn't care for the cartoon-y stickers so I went low-viz & used decals leftover from my Italeri Intruder kit.

Kamov Ka-52, 1/72 Airfix kit - my first helo!

Sopwith Camel, 1/72 Academy kit. Roundels from the spares, black bat badge was a home-printed bit.

Kits on the verge of completion:

  • Curtiss H75
  • BMW 320i
  • EE Lightning Airfix old-tool
  • Avia S.199

On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister

....especially those red booties on the Fiat.............Whistling

Despite well fed squirrels seeking shelter, power outages and 229 gram Eduard F-4B Phantom II boxes, Vance has built an excellent and imaginative mix of kits; managing near FERMIS speed on some projects !Surprise
.
Really nice work ! Cool

Very cool Vance, hadn't seen a few of these. Haven't seen you around as much- hope things are going well.

lol, thanks folks!  Gamera, Bish, I haven't been ONLINE as much this past year as usual to start with, and I'm kinda spread across several sites that I drop in on.  Jack of all trades forums, master of none?  I need to drop in here again to see what I've been missing out on.

On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister
