Acrylics can go over lacquer, but not vice versa.

I spray Testors Laquer Clear over Tamiya acylics with no problem, just make sure it is completely cured.
I spray Testors Dullcote lacquer over acrylics all the time. What happens is that when spraying light lacquer coats, it dries just about as fast as it's applied and will not harm the under coat. Just let the acrylic set up and dry for a day or two just to be extra safe but you should not have any problems.
Brushing it is quite a different story as it will attack the undercoat if you go over it a couple of times with a hand brush.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Those are mild lacquers, barely lacquer at all. I would not suggest doing it with automotive type lacquers. But you all do what you want. You ALWAYS take risk spraying ANY lacquer over acrylic. But what would I know, being a cabinet finisher.
Automotive lacquer is a different animal and would stay away from that one as you said. I have been spraying Testors Dullcote over everything including Future for many many years with absolutely no problems.
A lot of auto "lacquers" today are actually acrylic lacquers, even if the word acrylic doesn't appear on label.

Speaking of clear coats, I'm wondering since i have all this Future for dipping clear parts, can I use Future for a clear coat under decals etc instead of pricey clear coat laquers ? Can I airbrush it ? Do u hafta thin future and what with if u do airbrush it ? Ty for your input ahead of time.
I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.

I personally hand brush several light coats of Future. Most spray the stuff but I like to hand brush it. Wait at least a day otherwise the Future will cloud up when using setting solutions when decaling. I brush straight out of the bottle and if spraying then is done also full strength.
After I do my decals and they are dry, I put on a couple of more coats of Future to seal the decals and to really make them look painted on. To kill the gloss just shoot some Testors Dullcote.
Take a peek at the Stuka GB. I'm in the process of applying the decals on my build.
TY PJ, that clears up a lot of my wondering ( no pun intended )
