Members in the United States who have ordered directly from HGW?
Posted by StreetFightingMan on Saturday, March 21, 2015 2:25 PM

I've been considering getting a few of HGW's superdetailing sets for some of the Wingnut Wings kits in my stash, and I was surprised to see how low the prices are (in USD) on their site (http://hgwmodels.cz/en/), and that shipping is also ridiculously low. Because the prices are literally half of what their other distributors are charging, I feel like there might be fineprint or something that I'm missing, especially because they're sending this from Europe, and buying from other countries almost always seems to cost quite a bit. Has anyone on here from the US ordered from them before? The shipping does say it's worldwide, I just feel like there's something I'm missing here. If it turns out to be a really good deal, I'll be ordering ASAP, it just seems to be a little "too good to be true" right now. Thanks!

Mike, unless there are any additional US import taxe's, I think you will be getting what you see. I know I am not in the US, but Ijust ordered a set direct and it was damn cheap. Even with postage, they were cheaper than Hannants are selling them for. They also sell on E-bay, but the price is a lot higher on there. In fact, if you order from the site, the total cost is about the same as the item on there E-bay but before postage, so don't from their E-bay account.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

No expensive middleman, dollar is really strong- go for it.

Usually what I'll do with a vendor I never heard of is buy something for $ 10.00 or an amount you can live without, and see what happens.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
