Grex versus neo iwata pistol grip
Posted by modelnoob on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 4:03 AM

I everyone

I've been a FSM subscriber for a few years but i am new to the forums ,and seeing as i can't make up my mind i thought that i would ask the experts for some opinions .I am just getting into airbrushing and i have a badger 150 but i just can't seem to get use to it and i think that i would do a lot better with a pistol grip airbrush but now my problem is ,which one to get .I was looking at a Grex tritium gravity feed or a side feed .Can anyone give me their opinion as to which one of the two is the better one .And also is the neo iwata pistol grip airbrushes any good and are they a good alternative to the grex  airbrushes or are the grex airbrushes worth the money ?.Thanks in advance . Cheers .

I've never used the Iwata brushes so I can't speak about them. I've used a Grex tritrium gravity feed for a couple of years and I really like it. It sprays beautifully, it's easy to clean and the pistol grip is outstanding.  I recommend it highly.

Hope This helps,

Tom

Wouldn' t this be better covered in the Painting and Airbrushing forum?

I can't say I've used one, but I imagine that from the two the Grex would be the better airbrush - The Iwata Revolution TR models are more comparable to the Grex than the Neo TR's.

I have the Grex TS3 .. I love it .. If you  can afford it , I highly recommend Grex airbrush and Gmac valve .. Will it improve your airbrushing .Not sure ..

They also have great support .. Over at HyperScale  their is a rep that  chats there a lot . Name Bryant  Dunbar..

Also cleaning the grex airbrush , Dont use window ..

Thanks for the info  Milairjunkie ,i checked out the revolution TR and seeing as the grex will already be straining the budget i wil have to go with it simply for the price but the revolution does look pretty sweet !

Thank you for your post Rick ,i was not really looking at getting a gmac valve until you mentioned it and i did a bit more reading on it ,now i think i will get one . I realize that getting a more expensive airbrush will not automatically improve my airbrushing there is a lot to learn but at least i will be more comfortable learning with the pistol grip . I have seen some of Bryants videos on youtube and i enjoyed them .I will check out clubhyper ,thanks again .Cheers
