Thanks for your ideas. I've actually been looking at some 1/160 pipe fence material, but I'll definitely check out the ship railing in smaller scale. I've looked at 1/72 armor thinking, as you did, that the scale might be close enough to work, but haven't been able to find anything suitable in that scale.

This isn't really the time period that or area of armor that I build.  I do mostly A.F. Vietnam armor and some WWII things.  But here's a thought. I'm not sure how much you need but what about using P.E. ship's railings?  Maybe 1/350th or 1/200th might do it for such a small scale. Maybe someone has some left over sections.  Check the part dimensions to see if it would work.

Have you checked to see if that armor come in 1/72nd?  I'm not exactly sure of the size difference between the scales, but it's a thought.

I'm looking for something to simulate slat armor in 1/87 scale. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate, a reasonable facsimile will do. I would prefer not to have to scratch build the stuff myself, since that sort of micro-surgery seems like a good way to induce blindness and raise my blood pressure. Suggestions would be appreciated.
