I've come to the conclusion you will find them in the last place you look!

BLACKSMITHN

Well, if you're anything like me, chances are they're actually right in front of your nose. Of course, you won't realize this until you've torn the house and garage apart looking for them, along with every other storage shed or car trunk that you have.

Usually, I'm looking for one specific issue-- the month and year which I never, ever remember-- because it contains some article that will help with a specific project. By the time I give up, figuring I'll never find it, and go ahead and puzzle through the project on my own, THAT'S when it shows up.

I keep an index of articles that I might be interested in rereading in an old copy of "Tips and Techniques for Scale Modelers." For each entry, I write down the title and what issue of FSM it's in.

They're hanging out with that P-51D canopy...

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I say that to my wife all the time whenever she loses her own stuff. 9 times out of 10 I find them in less than 2 minutes. The trick with her is to backtrack where she left them. In your case, you have gremlins. LOL!

Tom,

I did ask my wife and her reply was, "Didn't I tell you to take care of your stuff?"  I can only blame myself Surprise

I've found the quickest way to find something is to tell my wife that I can't FIND it. She'll find it in about 20 seconds and we both walk away happy.

Knight,

The gremlin issue I have at my house likes a good bottle of wine and my homemade spaghetti. I have found that if I keep the good wine in stock and make my spaghetti at least once a month the gremlin stays way from my bench sort of, just trying to teach the gremlin that purses and other items don't go on the bench....lol

I've found two more under my piano (why were they there?).  6 more to go.  I know I've received and read all issues.  While searching, I found some books that I hadn't seen for ages.

Sounds as if you have gremlins under your bench, Chrisk-k. They usually start with stealing small pieces or the occassional tool, but by the time they start walking off with books and magazines, you're in serious trouble. The only thing that seems to appease them at that point is beer - and plenty of it! They like the expensive imported stuff...leave a case by your bench with a polite note asking for your things back. Good luck!

I've been a subscriber since February 2012.  I found today that 8 issues were missing.  I'm positive that they were not accidentally thrown away.  I've searched high and low (bathrooms, hobby room, den, bookshelves, closets, under the sofa, kitchen cabinets, etc.) but to no avail.  Where are they?!!?  I'll keep looking.
