Is it possible to make PE at home? If so, is it difficult?

Hey Derek,

There was an article in one of the model magazines one time about making your own PE parts but I don't recall off-hand which magazine or even roughly when it was. It didn't look that difficult (but don't things always look easier than they end up being?) :-) It involved getting a PC Board kit from Radio Shack (part # 276-1576) and just drawing your design on a sheet of brass and then disolving the brass around your design with this etching liquid. I've never tried it myself, although it did look intriguing, so I can't comment on the difficulty level.

Scale Auto Enthusiast ran a article some years back. I've got it, e-mail me your e-mail address, and I'll find it and scan it to you. There is a photo etch machine that you can buy, but I can't remember where I saw it offhand. If I remember, I'll let you know.

Yepper, check out the rags these fellas mentioned. And as a bit of encouragement, my Dad was able to make quite a bit of brass in the darkroom many years ago. After a few duds, he was pumping out some pretty neat stuff, for the time.

Derek, I tried to e-mail you, they all came back. Email me your snail mail address, and I'll mail you copies if the FSM article, and the SAE article when I find it.
