I want clarity
Posted by tankerbuilder on Thursday, July 9, 2015 7:57 AM

Here it is too !

I made a post  .It has gotten lots of replies . I never expected it to get way out west like it did . If it gets Argumentative or Offensive I personally Will , ask the powers that be to Lock It  .I didn't expect to start a firestorm .

With that in mind I am asking any future responders to think before you comment Please ! The thead is titled  the General Lee , Ironclads and Figurines

. Please be courteous to each other or I am going to go hide in a big corner . I don't want it locked nor do I want to be the one that asks for that !    Tanker- Builder

Tanker get over it. It's done, they voted, the issue was resolved.

I would really like to see your work, sincerely. Post some stuff sometime.

A basic rule of thumb for this place: any topic that treads into a contentious area where there are more than on strongly held viewpoint, especially when it delves into polarizing current or past events, and the accusations of censorship or political correctness, is likely to end up locked sooner or later. In all honesty, I was surprised that the thread lasted past the start of the business day Monday morning. Most similar threads usually do not.

As I did not watch the show, I did not know until now that the General Lee was also shown in black and green versions.

This website is a very handy source of for tv and movie cars:

I was unaware of differences in Miss Daisy's jeep Surprise

Tankerbuilder, actually the title of the thread in question is "Tha General Lee...." You might want to fix that.

It's an easy fix, but you, as the original poster, are the only one who can do it.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

GMorrison

I'm still waiting on Bluejacket to rush out their CSS Alabama, out before the ban...

.............which conjures up an image of middle aged ship modelers furtively glancing over their shoulders; half hunched over the package clutched in their Floquil Grimy Black stained hands. They take one last glance around just prior to scurrying into their homes before the neighbor sees the Confederate Flag on the Ironclad model box..............

Wrapped in brown paper. Wasn't there a product that used to be advertised as "wrapped in plain paper" when delivered by mail?

In the back pages of Playboy?

Tankerbuilder is old enough to remember REAL mens magazines, by which I mean real magazines for men. Some pretty hairy stuff. No pics, but pretty racy copy. Stuff like Stag, Duke, Man's Life, Cavalier.

Hey " G "

You forgot the most well known one ." Playboy ". I just had to have the Artwork from that famous Italian Guy . What beautiful drawings .Oh ! And when I went to sea , I had to have Playboy to trade to my  Soviet friends  while going through the Panama Canal !  My cold iron stuff was pretty much what you mentioned . One exception , I got Boy's Life so I could share with my son .

Oh I wish I could find it- my father-in-law had a cartoon on his refrigerator door. It showed a biker in all that crap riding along, but looking in his r/v mirror, where there's a Spitfire coming around on his 6.
