Need Some Help
Posted by Mjr.Lemming on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 9:32 PM

I purchased a Monogram B-25 from Wal-Mart. I was kind of excited to see a small, but decent collection of kits. I also decided to get back into Aircraft after being an Armor exclusive modeler for the past several years. Anyway, enough back story. When I opened the kit there are 2 canopy trees. For the gun nose, and the bombardier nose.  One of the pilot/copilot canopies was broken on opening (no worries I think to myself, there is a spare). Well when the kits was 75% built, and I was masking all of those wonderful canopies, the pilot canopy fell to the ground and fell prey to the errant step. Perhaps you can feel my pain. Now, I am trying to find a way to purchase another pilot canopy w/o having to rebuy the kit (as a last ditch measure, I will, but I would like to keep the cash in my pocket for another build).

Any ideas on where to get a replacement, at this point the interwebs have failed me...

Have you looked for a vacuum formed one? Likely sources would be Falcon, or Squadron. You could also try making one.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Have you tried the Revell/Monogram customer service here ? I have never used them, but I have heard some good results.

You do have 2 options:

Contact Revell/Monogram customer support

Or....

Find aftermarket canopy/canopies thru many various online sources like Squadron, Sprue Brothers, etc...

Contact Revells customer support. Have your instruction sheet handy nearby for the kit number and part number. I have had nothing less than stellar service from their customer support over the years.
