Articles on Model Companies?
Posted by Mark Lookabaugh on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 12:49 AM

It might be cool to see some occasional articles in FSM on the people and companies that produce the kits we build.  I've always been curious how models were produced, and how much work goes into creating them.  Topics like market research, design, sculpting, tooling, etc. could be pretty interesting, and give some new insight into the hobby.  I bet some of the people doing that work have some great stories to tell.  :)

They have done these on rare occasions.  I would like to see one on how they do the new molding technology found in some of the newer kits, that allows such fine and crisp detail.

Back in the early 1990s Hmm? FSM visited Monogram's design shop and published an article.

Would be even more intersting to view the changes from hand carved masters to CADD generated designs.
