Help making airliner windows

Try finding really thin clear material, cut them in strips the length of windows on airliner and glue them on. Ideas you can use: Clear page dividers. clear clamp report covers to name a couple.

You could use Testor's clear/window cement  or epoxie.  Start at the window openings and spiral the glue tip inwards to create a solid mass of glue in the openings. It takes a little tlc and practice but after the glue dries ( I allow 24 hrs )  it makes for a convincing clear window.

Take a careful look at your decal sheet. Hold it up and look at it sideways. I think you will see that the clear decal carrier film spans the windows.

Yes, it probably does.  I built a DC-10 where the side stripe windows were clear decal film. 

If not, you could cut a long strip of clear decal from a sheet of the clear decals made for home computer use, and put in inside the fuslage, covering all the window holes.

IMO in 1/200 and even in 1/144 it is best to fill all the windows and paint them back on (if it's the windscreen) or use decals (for the side windows). There's a company online, called DRAWdecals, that used to do "windows only" sets for many airliners. Hope it helps, good luck with your build and have a nice day

Actually, on a model of this scale, the windows are so small that it doesn't really matter if they have clear film or not.  Nobody will ever see the difference.  

It depends on the size of the window, but there is a transparent window material that creates a window if the opening is fairly small- say  1/8 inch or so. It is very much like white glue.  Some folks do use white glue, but I have found the commercial stuff works a little easier.  Both Testors and Micro-scale offer this stuff, plus there are several other brands.

In 1:144 scale, a popular scale for airliners these days, some mfgs do not actually cast open windows, they supply window images on decals.  This seems to work well in that scale.  Personally, for the airliners in that scale, I prefer the decaled cabin windows but transparent cockpit windows (some kits also just use decals for the cockpit).
