Artist's acylic paint in tubes ---  it has its uses in modeling;  weathering, details, touchups, etc.  Generally not too much as an overall covering.   Thinning and/or brush mark concerns here.

It may work for your desired application but the question of the suitability of the underlying paint is the question.     This is truely a water-based paints where some acrylic enamels are more of an alchohol based solvent.    If you need to get this artist paint thinned down so much to apply it thinly & without brush marks it may end up beading on smooth enamel paints.    Greatly thinned paint will also be less able to stand up to handling.     If its cheap - experiment and see what happens.

It may be better to try to find a hobby paint more compatible with the original material

Seriously, no.

It has so much body that it is hard to hide any brush marks on a larger surface. And it's thick and will hide detail.

With the subject, try little spray cans of black white buff red.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

No. Invest in good hobby paint brands like Model Master, Tamiya, etc...
