Hello;
I do know that I did some box top test shots for a company that wanted to do something different .
They wanted to do different cars than the run of the mill " SS " Camaros , Firebirds and Mustangs " GT " Models . They had me do the Firebird as a "Formula Firebird " with the offset hood scoop and special trim package .Then the Camaro was to be the absolute stripped down " 500 " six cylinder version .
The Mustang the same . Dog dishes all around all three ! The hardest part was making them Photogenic . Hi Gloss paint and my first use of foil chrome !
They paid well , But I never saw them produced .Hmmmm . Shame too . I wanted to see how the modelers took to Plain jane interiors . Remember Most came without a Radio or Air Conditioner standard at that time. It was certainly a challenge to down grade these cars .
The Firebird was the hardest , in a Gold and Light Brown ( leather ) color. No Radio , Air or " T " tops .
Many box - cover models ARE built in house by modelers , that do nothing but display and cover art models . They are usually , as with Revell a group of ladies .
Each one has a specialty and that's all she does . They probably have some men doing them too , Now .
