Jay Jay Oh Cool , Don ! I lived near the Akron's storage hangar and visited it many times, an amazing building. Where did you find that kit if I may ask? i'd love to build the Akron.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
I can't afford that monster so I'll settle for a picture of the Graf in her hanger and this:
Got it at my local hobby shop. It has been repopped by Round 2, so any shop that carries Round 2 products should either have it or be able to order it. I am sure also that bigger mail order places like Squadron, Roll Models, etc. can get it for you. It is not an expensive kit. As I say, support structures for many of the detail is much out of scale, but they are small parts, anyway, and they can be easily scratched with small diameter brass rod.
It can also be built as the Macon, with extra parts and decals included in the kit.

I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.
I bought a kit several years ago of the Hindenberg by one of the major mfgs. It was terribly inaccurate. I then bought and built the Lindberg Graf. It was not a bad model for a Lindberg kit, and turned out quite nice.
I recently bought, and am just about finished, with the AMT/Round 2 USS Akron. Kit is very poor fit, and some parts- prop shaft supports and control tab supports are monstrously out of scale (too thick), but those parts are not too complex to scratch, and it is turning out to be a pretty nice model. I'll post pics in the Airplane/Aircraft forum when it is done. I am working on "turning" props and the display base at the moment.
It looks a lot like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Authentic-Models-AP171-Hindenburg-Zeppelin/dp/B000SA9HVA/ref=sr_1_1?srs=3017595011&ie=UTF8&qid=1449102454&sr=8-1&keywords=hindenburg
There are also a couple-three Graf models out there about half that size.
It would appear that it doesn't come with swastikas, typical for Amazon.
Easy enough to fix that.
I was browsing Craigs list when I came across this :
https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/fod/5285487128.html
I was curious as to what this could be? Is this a scratch-built model or did someone make a kit Hindenburg that big? The "hindenburg" name seems a bit over-sized, and it looks as if they didn't like the swastikas either.
