bending a MG ammo belt....
Posted by Wirraway on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 12:58 AM

I'm just about to try and give a natural "draped" look to an ammo belt for a MG42.  These are the belts that come from the Tamiya German Infantry set B.  Has anyone done this before ?  I need to make one bend as the belt falls from the feed chute, then another bend as it falls across the vehicle (schwimmwagen) bonnet.  I havent come up with anything more than brushing on Tamiya cement to the back of the belt and waiting for it to soften?  Any suggestions welcome.

Try soaking it in hot water?

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

I just curve them as they are, gently easeing them round.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
