Okay, one more. McDonnell RF-101B Voodoo in all-black mode:
And, another. "What-if" Confederate States Air Force Mirage F-1:

Here's my little oddball - Trumpeter's LCAC in 1/144 scale. That would be a U.S. quarter off the side...

Scratchbuilt A.D. Police helicopter in 1/72 from the Japanese anime "Bubblegum Crisis". This project started when the anime series was brand new and took around 20 years to cross the finish line:

Huma 1/72 Treibflugel, my first serious "Luftwaffe 1946" build, as well as my first limited run kit:

“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
Like G, i have also done the Huma Triebflugel.
And i think this one qualifies. Hasegawa He 111Z. Hard to believe that this isn't a 'What If'
But this is, Ar 555.
And of the Star Wars builds i have done, this is one you don't see often. 1/72nd Probe Droid.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
More weirdness.

Drokk, that was an awful (Dredd-ful) movie. I wished the Karl Urban version had the effects budget and visuals of that movie - it would have been so awesome!
And finally, Huma's 1/72 plastic kit of the Ju-287 v1:

Ikar01, I think you win.
Ouch, I thought I'd build some odd stuff- now I think I should shut up and go home. Great stuff guys and neat thread.

I like thst Ryan Skyshark(or Fireball),very cool!
Cool models!
"Whaddya mean 'Who's flying the plane?!' Nobody's flying the plane!"
Thanks Philo!
Actually Ryan called it the Dark Shark, she was an 'improved' version of the Fireball but even with more power didn't show much of a performace boost.
Some cool stuff going on,I guess I only build Tigers and Panthers
I did a Wyvern and a paper panzer, but nothing really out there.
Don't know if this would count. The kit was poor, as some parts were deformed, so I made the T-34 100mm look like it was "knocked out".

My avatar is Nemo A534, a military war dog that served in Vietnam. He was WIA while defending his handler.
Texgunner Okay, one more. McDonnell RF-101B Voodoo in all-black mode:
This is my favorite. I love the all-black Voodoo.
Thanks BlackSheep! How about another shot or two...keep the thread alive?
I guess this fits the "esoteric" category. It's a very limited resin casting of Wonder Woman that I purchased directly from the artist years ago. Paint is Tamiya acrylics. Lariat is gold embroidery thread.
Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
Those are awesome guys!
I found one more on my PhotoBucket account:
Here is another of mine which is somewhat unique, a Bell XFM-1, a US attempt at a plane destroyer (like the ME-110 and other multi-engined fighters). This was a Vacu-form kit, but I forget by who.
Don Stauffer in Minnesota
Nice job!it really pops in the bright sun!

I love it! A very unusual bird indeed!
Here's a shot of the real one my Father took back then. It was one of a number of odd aircraft that woiuld fly in. I believe he was at Langley Field aat the time.
He said it was even less popular than the P-39s. If you were a gunner in the pod and had to get out, if the prop jettison system didn't work, you had to take your chute off, crawl into the fuselage, put it back on, and then drop out of a hatch in the floor. That was assuming of course that the aircraft was still in the air by then.

My weirdest build is 'Mrs Oregon' from Graveyard Cars. it was a wrecked Cuda they were rebuilding. it was a "technique builder", ie i built it just to test a new technique (pressed foil panels). only kit part was the chassis.

ikar, thanks for sharing that photo. I have seen few photos of that bird- I guess it did not work out. At least the US realized the bomber destroyers were not such a good deal once they built one. They didn't do another until the complex night fighters with radar came back, where you really needed a bigger crew.
I haven't built anything that really qualifies as out of the ordinary, except for a "Whif" I did last year...
Revell Mig-29 was the base for a "Mig-229 Fulcrum II"...
