all the stuff you picked up is just fine. It will build up great and is excellent for practice. Don't let the guys get you discouraged. It was a great haul and I would be happy with it. Congratulations on your good luck and enjoy it. That is what is important!

Just read a lot of reviews on the Abrams. I think I might know why "it" was on clearance! No problem, I'm not an accuracy fanatic on this particular model. It will make a great model to try new techniques on for me.

Had to go to the VA in Portland yesterday for an appt., stopped at the hobby shop in Salem on the way back and found the Dragon, 1/350, kit #1026, smart kit, USS Laffey-1942 for $47.00 and then swung into the LHS in Albany. Found another Dragon, 1/35, #6464, Marder III Aus.M initial production, also a smart kit (looks to be plastic links for the tracks). Got it on a clearance for $35.00.

First armour kit for me since the 60's, except one I tossed as not complete that I had gotten as a prior start and opened.

Laffey will be a mate to the 1/350 CV 6  i got from another member here.

Heh... Hobby Lobby has been having clearance sales for a while now. To be honest, their model selections have been pretty dismal as of late.

A nice little haul. Those WW2 US figures are a really old set so not up to the standards of modern kits, they would be perfect to practice on.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Looks like you're going to be busy.  I've never been good with figures, maybe it's time to try again.  We'll see.

Anyway, have fun with them.

For me, I was thinking how could I not give figures a try at $4 a set! And if they turn out,I have some vehicles they would go nicely with in a diorama. Which would also be a first!

Went to town with the wife today shopping for back to school stuff for the kids. Of course I talked her into going into the local big box HS, and what luck! They had lots of kits on clearance! I have yet to attempt figures yet, so I got these to try out:

And I have picked this M1A1 kit up several times in the past and put it back, looked at it online, etc.......

And then there it was on the clearance shelf! A pretty good day out I think!
