To me the problem with online sale is getting the model shipped.  Model cars seem to withstand mail shipping okay if they are the standard 1/25.  I have had larger models get trashed- ships and bigger planes do not seem to take well to Postal Service, UPS or Fedex well.  The g-loads on shipping are tremendous!

I have an R/C Shop just down from me which is branching into Model Kits. They want some Kits for display purposes so asked me to give them some. They said that they would sell them for me if a prospective Buyer was interested.

I have talked to the local Vet's home and they are interested in having some for permanent display for the Vets to look at and reminese and tell stories.

I donate mines to the various VFW's.  They appreciate them very much.

Next time put them on Ebay. You will be surprised how much you will get for models you no longer want. I listed several over the years, some having been built 25+ years ago and sold them for decent amount of cash.

I was going to suggest you ask if anyone here would like to have them, and is at least willing to pay postage.  You never can tell if someone needs parts for a project, or might need something for a diorama, or decoration, or knows someone who might like a certain model for their home or business.  Who knows?  If that doesn't work, you can always trash them then.

Problem solved. I only tossed 3 kits. And they are 3 of the first kits I ever finished and have been beat to heck over the years. None were very difficult builds either so I will be happy to pick them up and try again.

I presume that you don't have a storage unit for other stuff you can store them in. 

In the old days you could give them away to kids to use as toys, but nowadays everybody is worried about things like swallowing small parts so toys have to be kid-proofed.

You may be able to find a library that would like a display, but they usually want you to take them back after a while for another display, so that's not a permanent solution.

Are there any model or toy swap meets held near where you live? I know I buy used and partially finished models to raid them for parts and kit bashing. That's probably the most useful thing you can do with them.

When I had to leave models behind like when I was in the service I would take good photos for my memories and dump them. So maybe that's the best you can do.

When  I was a kid I would dispose of unwanted models by BB gun, lighter fluid and sinking in puddles, but I'm too mature for that now. (OK maybe mature is the wrong word, I'm too old). Nowadays I have enough room that I don't have to toss anything.

I have plenty of display space for now,so it's not a problem.I have had some older kits which I no longer deem worthy of display or have been replaced by newer versions.I either save them to use as test subjects for new techniques,or strip them for useful parts and discard the rest.You can give them away to family or friends who would appreciate them,especially kids.Your nicer or more treasured builds,store them and save them for later.Display them at work if thats an option.
