acrylic roundel colors

I can't help ya on the colors...but I would recommend (to any and all modelers) getting a circle cutter. I have one made by Olfa...picked it up for about 5 bucks at a local craft store (Michaels). It is great for making curved and circle (obviously) masks. For the 5 bucks and a couple bucks for a fat roll of masking tape, you can make masks of any size, without having to spend the cash on a one time use mask, for the rest of your modeling life!

 One trick though....every time I ever tried rotating the cutter, the start and end points never lined up. I discovered that if you stick the tape to a piece of scrap plastic, hold the cutter stationary, rotate the piece of plastic rather than the cutter. I know, it sounds dumb, but it works every time!

I've seen this a popular go to mix using Tamya acrylics:

Dull Roundel Red – Mix of 75% flat Red (XF-7 ), 25% NATO Brown (XF-68)

Blue – Mix of 95% flat Blue (XF-8), 5% flat Black (XF-1)

Yellow – Flat Yellow (XF-3) with a tiny amount of flat Red (XF-7)

Don't have a 1/32 scal Spit, but looking at one in 1/48,  I can see where the decal problem would arise.  Sometimes even liberal amounts of softening fluid wll not help, and you can do the option of masks, or just cut out the problem section and fill the required area with paint - problem now is matching the decal colours.
