So after 25 years I was finally ready this morning to actually sit down at my new workbench with my newly gathered supplies and kit. I'm starting from scratch here. The only things I've kept all these years are a pair of Optivisor's, a Helping Hands and a box of Grumbacher pastel chalk. So, everything is still all nice and shiny and unused.
I chose the Tamiya T-34/76 as it seemed like a simple build and if I screw it up, then oh well, no big loss. Despite all the kits I've built in my life I felt like I had no idea what I was doing when I sat down. Where to start? What to do first? Argh!!!! How doI work glue again?? ;)
But, after 20 minutes or so I now have a set of 10 road wheels. Woo hoo! :)
Just before I sat down to start:
And 20 minutes later: I realize this will all come back to me in time. Should be an interesting ride. I'm really curious to see what my work area will look like 6 months from now! And BTW, you folks have been a huge inspiration for me in reconnecting with this hobby, so, thank you! The passion for it is still there. I just hope I can find again some of the skills I used to have. Was never a fantastic modeler like many of you but I'm in it for the fun more than anything. And like they say on The Game of Thrones, Winter is Coming, and in this part of the world winter is looong.

Hello!
Awright, you're getting dug-in at this position :-)). Home is where you dig your hole! While the kit you've got is no masterpiece, I think you can have a lot of fun with it, and the T-34 is a real classic. So good luck with it and have a nice day

YAAAAY ! So glad to know that you have re-joined the ranks . I did, about 3 years ago, and I am never sorry that I did re-enter this great hobby. The people on here are very generous with their info and how-to's so ask away if you any questions at all.
I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.
