My anti-virus has blocked me from logging in at photobucket because it has lost it's certification.  Has any one else had this happen.

It hasn't happend to me but I quit using it because of pop-up ads and low resolution. The site is suspect for viruses at least by me. I use Imageshack which costs under $20 a year and darn well worth it if you are posting many pictures. Maybe the Gang will have some other ideas. Good luck.

Photobucket has caused me MANY, MANY headaches. I've given up on them and I'm checking out other sites to use.

I've read on this and a couple of other forums how people have had many issues with Photobucket.  The fact that issues exist with it is undeniable.  Perhaps I'm one of the lucky few, however, in that I've never had any issues with Photobucket.  The good thing is that there are more than a few photo hosting sites on the web so at least there's a choice to pick the one that works best for you.

I've had no problem with PB I went ad free for $11.99 a year, plus they give me more room also.I mainly use the App which works well on my phone and also the computer from time to time.

So to answer your question,no problems.

I have the lowest cost "premium' plan at Photobucket, to get extra storage space.  I get no pop-up ads that way, and overall, I enjoy using PB.  When I've needed support, I find them helpful and prompt.  Your mileage may  (and obviously, has) vary.

I use Photobucket, never had any problems except a little slow performance uploading photos from my home Internet connection, but I use a DSL connection with a relatively low rate.

It took me 8 years to use up the free space, and then I bit the bullet and took the basic storage package, it's 50 meg, for $49 per year.

The only other problem I have is not with Photobucket, but with our web filter here at work.  It interferes with the process of viewing some images.  For example, I can't see some images in posts here, that are linked to PB, but when I'm outside our network, at home, for example, the link completes without problems.  But that's not a Photobucket issue.

Same thing at my job, they block all the photo sharing sites, that's why I use the app on my phone.

I did several side-by-side photo comparisons between Photobucket and ImageShack which can be seen on the Aircraft/Aircraft Photography post which shows ImageShack to have a noticeable edge in resolution which was important to me. Something to consider.

I don't think that going ad free with PB for the account owner creates ad free images for the casual user that is browsing this forum and clicking on the pictures. I have honestly gotten to the point where I won't click on any images that are hosted on PB which is sad as there is a lot of good stuff posted here and on other sites. It's easier for me to just hold the Ctrl key and zoom in with the mouse scroll wheel to see the pictures in a larger format.

Have been using them for years. No problem. Twice I had some problem with logging in, e-mailed them and they responded the next day, fixed everything.

Why not use sites.google.com? No ads, 100mb per each free site; if you run out of space, just create a new site. Using dedicated ad-infested photosharing sites is more trouble (or money) than it's worth...

Some think this is actually fun!

I avoid using Google and its products unless I have no choice.  I don't like all the tracking and interconnections, no matter how benign they might seem.  I already have enough electronic yentas offering me suggestions based on browsing habits and other identifiers.

As they say, "whatever turns you on," but...

You can actually turn the tracking off in your account settings, if that's important. Event better, you can create a separate account (or as many as you like) just for your sites, so it remains independent from your regular Google activities. Wink

I agree Baron; it's hard to trust Google knowing what we now know.  Privacy is a rapidly disappearing part of our lives.  Sad
