Would it be any different if we stopped in a women's shoe store?

Well my wife does alot for me, Having been injured form a near body breaking auto accident. She took good care of me. I started back at this because I had the spare time while getting better. I took her to the shop I found and lost her, she went down the figurine isle and was lost for 15 minutes...not that I minded. So now when I go for my kits, one kit about every 2 weeks and she gets a little "upset" I remind her gently of that $80 faciel and leg waxing and whatever woman do at those places and she is suddenly very understandable.... mostly.

Wow, I never thought of that atwood, I traded mine off for a different one when she started that. Beware of this tactic though, you can lose a lot in the transaction!!! LMAO Be a nice guy, build her the ship. Involve her in building the ship. Let her know that when the ship is done, you are gonna get your tank! She may like it and you will have a new modeling budy. Do let her know that when you have to ask for her permission to get someting at the store that it makes you feel like a 10 year old kid begging Mom for a candy bar at the grocery store. It's not the way to build a healthy realationship. Girls dig that deep Opra type stuff and helps them to understand your thought process. Be responcible with your spending and I think you will do just fine.

LOL!!!

...and add "do you really need it?" or "you don't need to go spending money on that"

...oh, and this one "why don't you finish up some of the ones you already have before buying any new ones."

I can help you with both the kit and the clay...

first like any other model you need to have all your supplies. (1) bottle quick sealing glue, (1) roll of thick tape, perferably duck tape (1) comfortable chair (1) trash bag
(you may need a friend to help you with this)
Step one: wait till the girlfriends asleep. While her lips are closed apply the quick sealing glue to her mouth. (This is important so she cant scream)
Step 2: step one should wake her up quickly so be prepared when she wakes up with the roll of tape. Quickly apply tape to the hands, wrists, elbows, feet and knees
Step 3: place the girlfriend in the comfortable chair and apply more tape to upper arms and legs.
Step 4: with the girlfriend watching throw the model ship in the trashbag. Now in a calm voice explain to the girlfriend that the same fate awaits her if she doesnt get with the program. (you may want to wait for a cooling down period before removing any tape, I recommend atleast 24hrs)
This should help you with your problems..... :)
Should you actually feel the need to take this course of action I absolve myself from any legal reprocutions :)

If my wife started building models I would never be able to keep track of my tools! They would be everywhere but where they are supposed to be. No sir, she better keep her hands off. And I could just kiss my brushes good-bye, Her idea of cleaning paint brushes is to leave them out until the paint dries on them and then throw them away.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Some sound advice from fellow modelers.
Luckily I don't have to much hassles with my wife. I can buy a model and paints etc, but then I mustn't be to surprised if she finds something for the house or our son. It's a bit of a win-win situation.
You could always:
Buy what you want and put up with a tantrum.
Buy what she wants and have peace.
Find her a hobby or
Find a new one with her own set of quirks

Hmmm.....not to sure what I would do if my old lady wouldn't let me buy what I would want to buy. After all, I more or less put up with the endless pairs of shoes she just seemingly can't live with out.

Does she want you to make a resin Kate Winslet and Leonardo Decaprio for the bow?

Nah.. Put the resin Leo in an ice tray in the freezer for the rather satisfactory ending..

Besides Ben Affleck, I also hate leonardo Dicaprio..

Why do you think I never bring my wife. Buying a kit is a personal disire. Even after 30+ years some things are best done by ones self, including a little white lie now and again on the cost.

I'll do Kate but Leo is on his own. Just pretend he fell overboard!

Get a new GF. One that likes to wear armor.

She's tough enough already last thing I want is to need a can opener.

Poor guy. I fought one of those kits for several years (a slightly older one, no P/E, I bought a set from GMM). Finally finished it. But I won't post a pic of it. It's not worthy of ugly'n up this fine forum.
