Bish - I'm not really sure why, but I tend to gravitate toward British A/C. So you'll probably see more of that from me in the coming year. My stash is full of bright red boxes . . . Defiants and Blenheims and Lysanders (oh my !) and yes - there is one obligatory Spitfire - but that's not at the top of the build list.

You had a productive year, I like what you did with the "identification" model, that is a great idea on some of these "dime store" models I have in my stash.

Fermy - Yeah, I've noticed similarities in taste and in scale. I aspire to bring my builds up to the level of detail and fineness that you and others here on the forum can achieve. Respect !

Max - Alas . . . some of these have languished for 2 to 2.5 trips around the sun while being built. They were getting dizzy. Things just kindof came together in a perfect storm of completions this year. I still have quite a few in-process kits that were started in 2016, or 2015, or . . . as early as 2013, hmmm I don't wanna think about going further back in my memory.

If next year goes the same as this one - I'll keep working on a few oldies and then get impatient to start the new Airfix BP defiant kit that has been calling to me from the basement. One of my goals is to finish off some Auto kits. They require a different skill set that I'm not as comfortable with. But I'll get at least one of them done . . . Lord willin' and the creek don't rise !

2016 completions

Hello All,

This is one of my favorite things at the end of the year: Seeing everyone's build summaries.

This year was a good year for me to finish up alot of projects that were started in 2014 and 2015. So although the number is high for me (12 in all) alot of the work was done before this year.

My one foray into 1/48 scale this year - the new tool Airfix Spitfire Mk XII. This was a dream kit

1/72 new tool Airfix Bristol Blenheim Mk IV.

1/72 Academy P-40E Aleutian Eagle (old aftermarket superscale decals)

1/72 Hasegawa P-40M (not as nice as the Academy E or N kits - but it had the Burma Banshee decals that I was looking for !)

1/72 Haswgawa Dual P-47D kits (Bubble top and Razorback) These were built in a wheels up configuration with the pilot figures - mainly because the cockpit and wheel well detail were so poor.
