Mortal as I am,I know that I am born for a day. But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the Earth...
Hey John, I just joined the grpub, but I am in the Delaware valley, not lehigh...I figured it was close enough to chat on facebook, and maybe even visit if I ever find my way up there....

I just wanted to bump this and see if there are any modelers in the Lehigh Valley area interested in attending our meetings. Lotsa fun!
If so, please join our Facebook Page and come on down to a meeting. We're in the process of getting an IPMS charter (thanks, Baron!) and would love to have you participate.
Quick update for anyone interested: First meeting is this Wed at 7pm at the HobbyTown on MacArthur Rd. Some of us will be there earlier.
Sadly, the owner, Matt, is closing the shop down in the next month or so. But he's having a firesale on everything so you may be able to find some bargains. When I stopped in a few days ago, it was 25% off on all kits and supplies, that discount will probably increase as as time wears on.
You can find our group on Meetup.com as the Lehigh Valley Scale Models Club.
PM on the way.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
foxLooking forward to meeting you in person if you can make it. Let me know if you're coming and we can set up a time and place in the hall to meet up.
Sounds like a plan. Let me bounce it off the group to see if anyone is available and interested. Does your group have a formal name?
If you get a chance, PM your email address so we can continue the conversation as the event draws near.
Great idea John. The first contest of this year for us is MosquitoCon in early April at the Wayne N.J. PAL building.
Our whole group will probably be there unless other plans stop them. At least 2 of them usually volunteer to be judges for the contest. They have asked me several times to be a judge but I have turned it down because I thought I didn't know enough to do it. This year I just might give it a try. Looking forward to meeting you in person if you can make it. Let me know if you're coming and we can set up a time and place in the hall to meet up.
Beginner I'm interested. Keep me posted

Hi John,
Just thought I'd throw out a little info that might help you form your club. I got a club going over here in the Downingtown, Pa. area a few years ago. I found the first three original members by checking out the Readers Gallery in the FSM magazine for guys in the area and tracked them down in the phonebook and on the computer. We now have 7 regular members who get together about once a month at our homes. No dues are charged. We take turns supplying the location and we take turns supplying the food (Pizza, Hoagies, Wings) drinks and deserts for dinner before the meeting. We also get together to go to any contests that are within about 2 hours drive of here. We make a day of it by going to the shows and stopping for dinner on the way home at different places. As of now, we definately go to at least 5 shows a year. MosquitoCon (Wayne,N.J.), PennCon (Carlisle, Pa.), MarauderCon (Baltimore,Md.), Hobbytown (Sinking Springs, Pa.), and a large Figure Show in Valley Forge,Pa.(they also permit scale model entries). If anyone brings up another contest within our 2 hour driving circle we go (if schedules permit).
Hope that this helps in some small way.
For anyone interested in the Lehigh Valley, PA area, I've started a new MeetUp.com group that will be conducting meetings at a local shop where we can learn from one another and have some fun.
If this sounds of interest, please check the site.
