Gerhard
The subscription is available in digital format.

There is no way to access the current digital editions from the 25 year package.

Speaking of looking to the publisher, I wish we could get the newer editions in a form to add to the electonic batch, so they would be searchable and I wouldn't have to keep all the paper around!

I type on a tablet. Please excuse the terseness and the autocorrect. Not to mention the erors.

Sprue Brothers is running a 25% off Spring cleaning sale and has this DVD at "about" $67 with the discounts. It has been my experiece all the techinical articles from a few decades ago are well worth the price for this DVD set. Don't look to the publisher for any help or feedback in getting it permanently installed on a diskless Surface. They didn't return my emails or calls, all four of them. But having the DVD should present no problems running the software.

Cheers,

Bob

Alternatively, you can copy both DVD's to a 16G thumbdrive, install the application on your computer (laptop) and leave the thumbdrive in the USB slot and the issues will be viewable. I have a Surface 4 with no DVD drive. Works fine as long as I leave the thumbdrive in the USB slot. I'm not a big fan of digital editions, but at 33 cents an issue, it's a great value. There is a vast volume of useful articles that will take me quite some time to digest.

Cheers,

Bob

You can go to your local library and copy the DVD onto a memory stick. Once on memory stick transfer to new computer. 8G or higher memory stick should be fine for size.

Or you can buy an external DVD drive that plugs into new computer via USB. If you have other DVD's you want to transfer to new computer, this would be the best choice.

Some small portable DVD players come with HDMI connectors on them. My laptop has the space for an HDMI to plug in. Our DVD player plugs in to the TV with the HDMI connection. If your computer has an HDMI port like ours does, you should be able to connect your DVD player to your computer and then download it.

I got this info from my wife who is the computer expert in this house Wink. The book "Computers for Dummies" is way way over my head.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
