clear coat

Greetings, my inquiry of your great knowledge base arises from my need to protect clear, transparent plastic parts as much as possible. Such as canopies. My need, more specifically is a large plastic model part of ship hulls, revealing interior detail/parts. I'm not expecting to protect against blatant scratches or abrasions. Just general clouding over time by oxidation, anything airborne and such. Any coatings, lacquors, clearcoats, or such by your experiences and knowledge. Also, how about the products that clean up things like headlight lenses and smooths out slight plastic surface marring. Any use of those to fix small flaws that might arise. As you know, sometimes the key to disguising or hiding a surface flaw is filling it in and polishing, so as not to be seen from inclined vantange points. You don't so much as fix it rather than "hide" it. Maybe that's the same thing.  Thank you, dgb
