24 links per inch should be close.  The Floating Drydocks eBook on the Admirable class minesweeper says 29.25" for 6 links, which works out to about 25 links per inch in 1/125 scale.

Highly recommend the Floating Drydock eBook

For what it's worth...I had picked up the finest chain I could get at Michaels(craft store) to use as anchor chain on a 1/350 kit...it was about double the size of what it should have been (for the ship in question)...then I ordered some 1/350 "anchor chain"...it was not much smaller than the stuff I got at Michaels. My guess is, that either of those would probably be perfect for 1/144 and even slightly larger....of course, depending on the boat itself and what size chain it had.

I do not know the answer, however, if you post this in the ship forum (keep scrolling on the main forum page, it's after aircraft, armor, and dioramas) then you're more likely to get somebody who does know the answer to view your question.

Hello all. I need help with an 1/125 ship model I am working on. I would like opinions on what size chain to use for my anchor chain. I am thinking 24 links per inch might work but not sure, can anyone please help me. THANKS
