I love receiving packages in the mail!

I'll probably just paint mine on. Worked well on my Stuka and I still have the stencil I made. Though it may be a bit large for the 109. ...and the 1/72...

Dragon's Scharnhorst has them, but they come in 2 piece "S" decals, and I think Trumpeter's G.Z. carrier is the same way.

 

I saw that on the Trump GZ. there 32nd Me 262 is the same. But the Dragon aircrfat kits don't have any. Even some AM sets are split. I have been looking at some of the Peddinghaus German ship decals and theres are in 2 parts.

Its all to keep one country happy.

There is a corner on the decal sheet with rectangles of "extra" decal film. Possibly what that is for.

 

Just had a close look at bthe image, no, those are wrong colour, should be black and white. Those are spare for the red fuselage band and yellow markings. Not seen that before. I checked the kit you had planned to buy and that does not have those spares.

I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos about it. Ive also got the 1/72 as well. I suppose I will just have to paint those swastikas on myself. No biggie.

Edit: Never mind. Neither scheme uses them. Clever, Airfix. Very clever. ;)

 

Mike, i would check that, every German aircraft should have the Swastika's. The UK is the home of political correctness, but this is not Airfix being smart, simply compling with German laws. And its not just them. Of course you expect Revell to do it, but check Trumpeter, Hasegawa, Tamiya and Dragon kits. They all leave the swastika off the box ar or put a black square in its place.

If your useing the decals and instructions as an indicator that these did not carry them, bad idea. Again, this to to comply with German law. The European companies tend to leave them out. The far eastern ones either include the swastikas on the edge of the decal sheet, Hasegawa's preffered method, so they can be trimmed off. Or they are supplied in 2 parts.

If you plan on getting into German aircraft, one thing you will need is a healthy supply of AM swastika decals.

It's almost as good as the old days,opening your box in the car after you left the hobby shop. A lot of the modeling forums have a Latest Aquisition" section where modelers show off all the cool stuff that they acquired.

Nothing tops your day getting the unexpected in the mail. Enjoy building the kit.

Look at the kits of the General Lee, the battle flag is gone because of it as well, and the cup cars no longer have beer decals.

Ah well, such is life, I guess.

I remember that as far back as the 70's or 80's * some model company got into an issue where they showed an image of German Bomber dropping bombs on one of their kits and it was banned in several European countries, so its not really necessarily a modern thing, but most likely just a matter of making sure you can market the same kit everywhere.

Either way, it's a darn nice kit.  I've put a couple together, and aside from a little flash here and there, they were a joy to build!

Yep. There should be a swastika on the tail.

I am not an airplane guy and haven't built one for a long time. So, is it just me...but shouldn't there be a swastika on the tail?

The one you ordered is from 2010, as the label indicates for the BoB anniversay, and is number 05120. The one you got is from 2014 and is 05120A. So looks like it replaced the older one but the sellers still have the old kit on the site.
