muzzle flash / damage in diorama
Posted by Aspiring Modeler on Friday, May 19, 2017 9:51 AM

Hello all,

I am planning my first diorama after a long hiatus from modeling.  I want to do a battle scene in North Africa, WW2.  I have the models I want, but I want to add 2 effects for action:

1) muzzel flash to an MG 42 team.  I don't want to use lights.  Ive seen some posts elsewhere about using hot glue to create a teardrop shape and painting the hot glue.  This seems to look reasonably simple for a beginner like me.  Does anyone know of another method to show small arms firing effect?

2) i want to show impact of small arms fire on a sandbag bunker prop.  I was thinking of using small scale versions of grey teased cotton explosions for the impact marks.  Anyone used a method sucessfully to show an exchange of fire?

Thanks for the help,

AM

Aspiring Modeler....I am currently working on a dambusters diorama,  and youtube has been extremely helpful in my planning....a fairly simple you tube search will yield many many helpful results!  Don't ignore the ones from the tabletop gamers!

Good luck

Justin
