Gravity Sucks

I am half way through airbrushing Alclad 2 Aluminum onto my Revell B-26B and am totally focused on the paint stream. Working my way around one engine nacelle when suddenly my hand gets cold and wet. Paint splatters across the basement floor as I try to correct the inadvertant tilt to the paint cup. ARG! No paint on my cloths or the model but you can call me 'old silver hand' now. Sad [:(]

Wear latex gloves and get an Omni 4000 with the lid on the color cup. Big Smile [:D]

I've never used the paint cups precisely for that reason. (not that I haven't painted myself anyway Blush [:I]

I use a gravity feed and it happens. I try to till the gravity feed up all the time, which means constant adjustment, but at least it saves paint.

I haven't tilted my Omni 5000 up that far yet, but after reading this post earlier, I went to use it, and I paid very close attention and noticed that it sure does get dangerously close!!!

Monrad is right! IS THE MODEL OKAY???? LOL! I think we've all done that. How come it seems to happen the day before you have company over or some other public function? Oh well. I guess that's why God invented pockets. No wonder men's pants have pockets and women's don't!

at least it was only your hand. i had two hands and an arm that ended up olive drab and navy blue. a major oops on my part. the floor is cement and it didnt get hurt. wont talk of the model.

Yeah - been there, done that..........hated every minute of it too..........
The chrome silver paijnt was hell on wheels to get out of the carpet.......

Wait until you hook your AB hose on a drawer handle and pull that AB with a cup full of enamel paint. I did that and the AB shot out of my hand, bounced off the wall and landed, you can you guess, on top of my completed model. I didn't know where to start on the paint clean up, the model, the wall, the floor or me. I was very P.Oed and after clean up I let the model sit for a day. Then I thought I sealed the model before I painted it with Future acrylic and I have enamel paint on top of that. It couldn't be as easy to clean with just an enamel paint solvent...could it? Yes it was that easy. I was in happyland again.

I have got to get something to cover the floor around my model area. I have had no major painting accidents, but I should do something just in case (I imagine the carpet will be hard to clean when I spill on it.

Ugh, let's not start talking about spilled paint. I've decided that every time I model, I wear the same clothes, and these are ONLY for modelling. RIght now they're taking on a weird form of camouflage, with maily greens and grays, but some orange and others in there as well. Too bad really, as it really was a nice white shirt when I began this. At least it'll save me from ruining other clothes.
