Greetings to all from a new member to the forum.
I am looking for any suggestions for possible sources for replacing kit instructions for those destroyed in a flood. Last year I lost my home in a massive flood that left thousands homeless in Denham springs, and portions of Baton Rouge Louisiana. It has taken me a year to finally reach a point where I could begin to address the 60 or more unbuilt kits that went under water. Except for some minor rodent damage, the plastic parts only require a good cleaning, but the decal sheets and instructions were destroyed. To my great surprise, a number of the kit boxes were still soggy, and some even contained small amounts of water a year after the flood!
I have begun the process of locating and purchasing aftermarket decals, but with regard to the ruined instruction sheets, I’m not sure if attempting to contact the kit manufacturers would be worth the effort. Many of the kits are out of production or the companies no longer exist. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As a result of the recent flooding in Texas and western Louisiana, I’m sure modelers in the affected areas will face the same problems farther along, and I’m sure they would appreciate the info as well.
Many thanks for your consideration, and happy modeling to all.
