Good Yellow for Fire Engine?

Personally...I'd go with a combo. Grey to cover the red real good...then white as the base for the yellow. Yellow goes down way better over white (as do red, orange, blue)...but white isn't all that great at covering something like red.

That sound's like the way to go.

The problem I have with silver paint as an undercoat is that I find adhesion poor for virtually any other color over it.  If you can find a real silver primer, that would be fine- indeed the silver does block any color underneath, but the several times I have had adhesion problems over silver or aluminum makes me shy away from it.

I would have said the same thing, but Jrock83 said the model was molded in red. 

I have had bad luck trying to primer red plastic with white..... tend's to take multiple coat's to cover it and then you lose detail.

Silver would cover up the red..... but then the  first coat or two of Yellow would be kinda lighter than you want.

Make sure to use Grey primer. Yellow doesn't like Black primer...... or any other color for that matter.
