Hmmm... funny... everytime someone says they have problems with MM acrylics, it seems like I’m the only one that has zero issues with their acrylic lines. Maybe it’s because I know how to eyeball the thinner/paint ratio or the region I live in. Maybe it’s hard for those whole airbrush exclusively with enamels. I don’t know. As I’ve said before, MM Acrylics are a whole different animal to work with. Not all acrylics are the same.

I do respect those who hate their acrylic lines.

The Testors Military enamel line is being dropped and an acrylic line is to take over as I have read. I for one dont like using the Testors Acryl line mainly cause I have problems using them in all my airb brushes. I have experimented with Vallejo Air and Tamiya Acrylics and they seem to work very well.

Humbrol is another enamel paint worth mentioning and will probably go back to them once the MM enamel military colors are gone.

As far as an online shop for paint, several great ones have been mentioned. To offset the shipping cost try to order several bottles.

Tamiya acrylics are liked by many for airbrushing.  Not so much for using a brush.  I am no expert, but I like Tamiya paints.  

 

Mission Models paint is a new product that has had favorable reviews, and having used it myself, I concur.  Very nice product.  You absolutely need to use their thinner, and you can use a polyeurethane additive they sell.  Their website advises how to mix them.

 

 

Tamiya paints are great for airbrushing, however they don’t have a wide variety of colors as Testors Model Master, Lifecolor, and others brands. I’ve never had issues handbrushing Tamiya acrylics but maybe it’s me.
