As an ex customer of Greatmodels,I got an email today about this new company. They use to own Greatmodels and they bought out Pacific Coast Models. They seem to have a good selection including the new AK Real Colors.

Hello!

I was a faithful customer of GreatScaleModels, and then they just quit. Somehow Sprue Brothers didn't have the right feel and I didn't buy from them. Funny thing, GreatScale Models had such a discounts, that a piece of PE from Eduard had to travel over the ocean two times to allow me to buyt if for half the price compared to a direct buy from Eduard! Those were the days!

Now they ***ed me off a little bit... What's all that membership about? They expect me to pay 20$ for something that I get free when I combine Hannats and Scalemates. I think Loic missed his time and I wouldn't bet any money that his new service will repeat the success of the old one. I suspect he's missing the point now.

Good luck to him anyhow, for the old times sake. Thanks for reading and have a nice day

The old GreatModels website had the best search of any internet modeling site.  I miss it.  I have yet to find an easier to use search feature with all of the right filters.  They had a great selection too.  Some stuff would end up on back-order for months, but I learned how to deal with that.

Hello!

They sure did have a nice database and good search engine. The next best thing is now on Hannants IMO, and to look for stuff OOP you could also try scalemates - extensive database and lots of reviews!

Have a nice day

Squadron used to advertise that they had the stuff on hand and they weren't an online list like Great Models. They did have the largest database of online models and accessories. Because of this, you could virtually order anything, but it could take months for the item to arrive. Got them the nickname of "Wait Models".

I'd use them quite often and I once did a non-scientific test to see if the same or similar items ordered from Squadron vs. Great Models would come first. Squadron won out and was only marginally more expensive (like a dollar or two) than GM.
