Bakster

Murphy visited my house today and I didn't even invite em. I was mixing a jar of Tamiya paint when I knocked it over. Son of ....  It was 15 minutes of cleanup. Then, when I was cleaning my AB, I knocked over a jar of lacquer thinner. Some days are just cursed. But... no damage to a model. There is the silver lining.

It's always good if you can see the bright side of things.

Gotta say, doctor, your talent for alienatin' folk is near miraculous.

I'm not sure folks realize he was a real person!  He worked for Air Force at, I believe, White Sands NM.  Google Murphy's law for more about him.

No, I learned something new.

I think we've all been there, lol.  I've dumped the Microset several, and I mean several times while decaling.  One night I even sent a bottle of Aluminum paint summersaulting through the air and onto the floor.  I still am not sure how I managed it.  Thankfully the paint missed the model I was working on(69 Z/28 Camaro)but left a giant streak on the carpet.  At that point I decided it must be time to pack it in for the night.

I would say all are possibilities. I'm in the process of cleaning up the mess. Murphy is still hanging around, though, so we will see how it goes. I'm getting close to finishing though, if I can get past this rough spot.

I see him as a Navy 30 year Master Chief who thinks everyone in the world is a raw boot seaman recruit, and has to pay for breathing his air.

I always pictured Murphy as some sarcastic, crotchety old senior NCO

Pretty sure he was an officer, a Lieutenant or Captain when he invented his law.  And I believe he passed away a number of years ago, so I don't think you can speak to him.

Touched the brush to the glass-frame join on a Jeep.

Watched the glue shoot in between hood and fingertip.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Right there with ya, Doc. Spilled a bottle of Testors liquid cement over a P-40 a while back. I finished the kit and the O.D. paint covered up the spilled glue across the nose.

I think I will keep the liquid cement off the list of choices and off the desk as much as possible from now on.

As an aside, it seems my super glue "migrated" upstairs somehow.

If You See Murphy

Punch him for me. Him and his stupid law...

I got my work bench mostly back in order, and I've been back to working on a P-47. Things have been going well, I've been trying some new to me techniques with moderate success. Not to the standards of plenty of modelers here, but I've been pleased. I was working to put the tail wheel assembly in, and looking around, didn't spot my tube glue. I also didn't see my super glue. Odd, but oh well. I reach for the liquid cement, wipe excess of the brush, touch the fuselage where the tail wheel attaches, and just watch the glue wick down (up) the rudder and make a mess of things.

Looks like I have some sanding, some masking and some re-painting to do, and hope it doesn't look too bad when I am done.

~sigh~
