Welcome Rinny. I've found lots of hobby related items in yard sales so you never know what will pop up. I need to look into the Facebook swap site, sounds very interesting.

Rinny, Welcome to the forum. It would be great to have some kind of clearinghouse for parts. Regrettably, it would be a major undertaking to manage. You really don't need that anyway. If you post in the forum what you are looking for, if someone here has it to spare, they'll probably offer to send it to you. Also, some of the manufacturers are very responsive to pleas for replacement parts. I suggest contacting the kit maker and asking if they can send the part. Sometimes, they'll send it for free. Other times, they just ask you to pay for the cost of the sprue it's on. Also, make a post here and tell folks what you need and what model it goes with. You'll probably get some good help. Best wishes, Barrett

Online modelers yard sales?
Posted by RinnyR on Saturday, February 10, 2018 12:01 PM

Hi everyone!

Fairly new member here. I've learned so much from the videos and Forum posts on this site. It's great to have a community like this to lean into as I grow my skills at modeling and painting. I'm wondering if anyone knows about an online site that might be like a yard sale or a swap meet for modelers? A place where you could find odd parts, or pieces from a model that someone else might not have used, or something like that. I'm trying to find the base that came with one of my models that I accidentally destroyed and I'd like not to have to buy the entire model over again. I've tried eBay but to no avail. Any ideas or resources you have found would be great to know! Thank you!
