Drying MIG Jimenez Mud "splashes"
Posted by RudyOnWheels on Friday, March 2, 2018 11:26 PM

hello all, I have read all through the pamphlet that came with my Mig mud "splashes", and a how to by MIG himself, and did not spot any special instructions or requirements for drying this product, or of any need to "over-coat" it with anything else. I "flecked" some off a brush onto a bronco I just finished (sorry no pics I just dropped it off at the model car contest at the Detroit Autorama earlier today) and a full day later, everything was wet as when I flung it on there. I put the whole thing the dehydrator last night for about 12 hours, and today it was much better, but still somewhat tacky. I love the wet-look affect it creates, Im just unsure if I didn't mix it well enough, or if it's supposed to be coated over after the application. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Rudy

Often these products are wax based that never cures. Not meant to be handled.

Hmm, ok. You'd think it would need to dry at some point.... still being tacky after a full day in the dehydrator really surprised me. Thank you for your reply. Rudy
